[photo release] NAPC urges stronger partnership with basic sectors to fight poverty
-Posted: 20 February 2008-

Secretary Domingo F. Panganiban, lead convenor of the National Anti-Poverty Commission, underscores the need for stronger partnership between the government and various basic sector groups to fight poverty in the country. Panganiban told the participants during the three-day Basic Sector Summit held recently at the Bayview Hotel in Manila that basic sectors’ partnership with the Arroyo Administration has assembled the most comprehensive campaign against poverty and hunger by intensifying job-creation and food feeding programs as well as skills training and education, access to affordable medicines and the construction of additional shelters and school classrooms for the underprivileged members of society.
